Are you ready for some much needed pampering and fun with other like-minded mamas?
Then join us on a fabulous retreat crafted just for you!
As the sun rises in the beautiful Northern Georgia mountains, the only sound you hear are the birds chirping outside your window. You slowly rise and take a peek outside. Stillness and wilderness surrounds you.
Once ready for the day, you make your way to the yoga hall and notice the crisp wind gently kissing your face.
After an invigorating yoga and meditation session, you now feel centered and ready for the day. Your biggest decision today will be to either take part in the fun group activities, explore the historic district, or stay on property and enjoy a day of relaxation followed by a beautiful sunset on the porch.

Located just an hour North of Atlanta, Dahlonega Resort and Spa feels like a world away. As you go through the winding road up the mountain, you experience the tranquility and beauty that surrounds you.
Upon arrival, you are greeted by the sounds of wildlife all around the property, and the undeniable crisp, fresh air of the mountains. Take a deep breath, and exhale. Ahh…
As you explore the 72-acre property of open meadows and woods, you might come across the wooded walking trail, the 40-foot long walking labyrinth, or the outdoor Jacuzzi at the forest’s edge.
Take a seat in the cozy living room and curl up with a book. Or perhaps play a fun game with a retreat buddy, or just enjoy some local vino or iced tea. The choice is yours!
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, Dahlonega is a charming and old-world kind of town.
The history of the city is celebrated throughout the downtown streets, whether you visit the gold museum (where you can see actual gold imprinted in the building’s bricks), enjoy a meal at a haunted diner, or fine a one-of-a-kind artifact from one of the unique town shops.
No matter what you do, you are sure to experience the best in Southern hospitality everywhere you go!
As part of your retreat package, all of your meals are included during the retreat. We are talking about 3 amazing breakfasts, 3 delightful dinners and 2 delicious lunches.
To your enjoyment, you will be presented with a variety of nourishing meals, crafted daily. The meals are always home-cooked, right on property. The menu will change daily, and some of the featured dishes might include soups, salads, stews, specialty sandwiches, and desserts.
If you are a coffee lover, you will be glad to know that the resort owners bring the coffee beans from Costa Rica and roast it on site! There is freshly brewed coffee, hot water, tea, and homemade granola available at all times for your convenience.
These healthy, plant-based meals are created especially to complement your retreat experience. You will not be disappointed!
And don’t forget that you can always pair your meal with a delicious glass of locally-produced wine!
The beauty of being a world away in the wilderness of the mountains is that you can really disconnect from the noises of everyday, tune in inside and listen to your heart.
There will be a balance of activities and down-time, so you can do as little or as much as you please.
Visualize it with me… You just enjoyed a mouthwatering and fun-filled meal with your fellow retreat mamas, and now you are enjoying some ginger tea on the porch, overlooking the mountains.
The next thing on your to-do list is a scrumptious holistic massage, followed by an afternoon nap.
After waking up relaxed and refreshed from your nap, you can’t decide if you want to relax in the Jacuzzi, take a stroll in the pristine woods, or do a bit of journaling on the lawn.
If you feel your heart calling you to go deeper, you might try the labyrinth instead. Set your intention at the start, and walk the 40-foot path. You might just get the answer you are looking for!
When dinner time rolls around, you make your way into the dining room where a healthy meal is prepared just for you, and all you have to do is sit down and enjoy it. But first things first: where is that glass of pinot I’ve been daydreaming about?
You might now feel ready to explore the town and have some fun! A ghost tour might be just what you are looking for, which is also perfect for learning the history of the town.
Or a stroll through town just might do the trick. How would you like to spend your night?
W e couldn’t stay at the Georgia mountains however without exploring the abundant natural beauty around. So get excited, because we are going to visit the beautiful Amicalola Falls State Park!
Expect to witness breath-taking views of the tumbling waters from the many trails and staircases from the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast. One of the many trails from the Amicalola Falls leads to the Southern end of the famous Appalachian Trail!
The Winery Trip
If you are a mama looking to experience the best in regional wine, we will offer an optional wine tour to a local winery.
This tour is unique because you will get to visit the vineyard and learn about wine making, as well as enjoy a wonderful, private wine tasting.
If you are not yet convinced that going to a retreat on your own, while the kids are home, is a good idea, let me help you change your mind!
Many moms experience an array of emotions when thinking about leaving their kids in the care of others (including their spouses), especially overnight, and especially for the first time.
Some of the most common emotions are guilt, fear, worry, shame and stress.
On the other end of the spectrum, happiness and excitement of being away on your own can quickly be shadowed by the negative emotions, because only a bad mom could be excited about going away for a few days without her family to have fun, right? Not so fast, guilt trap!
These are all very legitimate feelings and I believe all mothers experience them, especially when considering a getaway without their families. But the truth is, you and your family only have to gain from this experience (and everyone will be ok, trust me!)
On this retreat you will:
- Refill up your cup before it’s empty
- Spend unrestricted time in nature so you can connect inward on a deeper level.
- Have a safe place where you can talk about your worries, your dreams, the good and the bad of motherhood, without judgement or fear of rejection. Tears and wine allowed!
- Teach your kids about healthy boundaries by showing them that you value your own time and self-care.
- Miss your kids in a good way. Being away from them for a few days will magnify and rekindle your love for them, and the same thing is happening with your loved ones at home!
- Experience tranquility that will linger for a long time to come.
- Click “reset”. Reset your mind and body by clearing your mind of all tasks and thoughts that clutter it.
- Spend some time without “adulting” (is that even a word?). No decisions to make, no schedules to keep. No requirements whatsoever. No judgement or guilt. It’s your time.
- Tap into your soul cravings. What do you need? What are your deepest desires?
- Renew your sense of self and fall in love with you again! You deserve to do something just for you! This is your life. Your sanity, well-being, body, mind and spirit will thank you!
If that’s not enough, you will leave the retreat equipped with mindful tools that you can use daily to stay centered, or whenever you need it the most. You will also learn techniques for your own self-care, so you can bring home more patience and kindness back to your family.

As the mother of a toddler, I understand the demands of raising a child and trying to add yourself to the mix. Kids don’t come with instructional manuals, and no matter how much reading and prepping you do prior to their arrival, nothing can prepare you to what actually happens when the time comes.
I thought the best thing I could do for my son was to take care of his needs, and his needs alone. I put myself and my needs in the back burner because this is what I thought I should do. I started to feel lost and burned out in my new role as a mother and I wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong. Self-care was like a foreign language to me!
Through trial and error and much research I found that I needed to learn to connect with myself again amidst all my mommy responsibilities, and that what I needed mattered. Not just for my well-being, but for the good of my entire family!
So when I realized that I wasn’t the only mama going through this, it became clear to me that I needed to spread the word about self-care for moms, and how vital it is that we take care of ourselves as well, not just everyone else!
Combining my experience as a mom who has been there, and years of practice as a conference planner, event and professional organizer, I design and implement retreats that are exclusive for moms who want to explore their soul’s desires, and live the life of their dreams, whatever it may be!
A Florida native, Dori is passionate about teaching Meditation, Pranayama, and all styles of yoga and incorporates this free form expression of yoga in her classes, encouraging her students to connect to the root and explore the practice.
She became a mother in 2013 and met her greatest teacher when they welcomed a baby girl into this world. To this day, she considers her daughter, Olive, to be her Guru. Olive continually teaches Dori how to love unconditionally and how to create authentic connection through communication, movement and breath. Olive also taught her how to lead Mommy & Me Yoga and attends these classes with Dori regularly.
In February of 2016, she completed her 500-hr advanced training, humbly earning the certificate of Yoga Acharya (Yoga Master) with Bhooma Chaitanaya and Swami Yogeshananda Saraswati at Aarsha Yoga Vidya Peetham in Kerala, India.
When Dori is not at Soluna teaching classes and workshops, or leading Yoga & SUP Yoga Retreats in the United States and Costa Rica, she enjoys spending time traveling with her family, planting seeds in their garden, and taking time to press pause.
